Heir to five generations of transhumant livestock farmers between Extremadura and Soria, he has dedicated his life to caring for the flock, learning the rhythms of the land and the language of the sheep in the extensive Trujillo-Cáceres penillanura.
But his legacy, like that of so many older shepherds, is uncertain, although it will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of those whom he has taught that in his serene existence as a shepherd, he has found the simple but profound truth of the importance of living in connection with nature.
