Trujillo is a city with an impressive built heritage and a nationally and internationally recognized character as a village of history and art. However, the surroundings of the city, the so-called “Berrocal”, is little known by those who visit Trujillo, despite being an area of great richness and landscape diversity.
This Berrocal of Trujillo is the result of the granitic modeling that geological history has done on the great granitic batholith on which the monumental city sits. A large area that emerges from the Trujillo-Cáceres penillanura and contains a unique catalog of granite boulders.
It is a space in which to enjoy the Mediterranean forest, extensive livestock, birdlife, vernacular architecture, cattle trails and, on the horizon, the set of monuments of the historic city that blend into the landscape.
To know the Berrocal trujillano we will make a route of approximately 14 km of distance and 3 hours of duration in which through historical roads surrounded by vegetation we will enjoy not only magnificent views of the walled city of Trujillo, but we will also know the elements that make up this exceptional landscape as ancient hermitages, zahurdas, cattle trails, washing places, mills and watchtowers…
In addition, you can also take a guided tour with us to the Historical Complex of Trujillo.
