We are very pleased to have been able to collaborate with Extremadura Tourism y Birding in Extremadura in the development of the great annual event of nature tourism and birdwatching in Spain: the 18th edition of the INTERNATIONAL ORNITHOLOGICAL TOURISM FAIR! which was held from February 24 to 26, specifically at the presentation of the FIO conferences.
We have always dealt with very interesting topics, but this year some of the round tables we have attended have seemed especially relevant and topical, which have addressed issues such as the need to reconcile the development of renewable energy with bird conservation; the impact of toxins and climate change on birdlife; the change in the last decades of ornithological tourism and the challenges it faces in the future; or how the growing interest of citizens in birdwatching and conservation is reflected in an increasing media attention to activities related to ornithology.
The meetings before and after each conference, the visits to the stands of colleagues and the fleeting meals between greetings and smiles are always short, we are always looking forward to continue sharing!
Thanks to the organization for trusting Verdehesa once again this year and to the more than thirty speakers for transmitting and inspiring us with their knowledge and passion for birds and nature.
See you at FIO2024!
